VI Pink : A fun rosey pink shade, perfect for summer and spring. This is a mid range tone and is ideal for everyday wear!
VI Pink swatch
Fushianista : A magenta pink. This shade is stunning! For those of us who love a bright lip, you will instantly be drawn to this sort of shade. It’s such a deep yet bright pink, and a fun take on your average bold red lip. Now, in certain lights you will catch an ever so slight blue cast, not sparkles, but a blue sheen. Not overly blue, but enough that your teeth will look extra white :)
Saraghina : A blue toned red. This is a classic red lip color, not too deep, and still bright enough to give you a classy, sexy pout. If you are like me and starting to fall head over heels for red lipsticks, or if you have an already established love affair with reds, then you will like this one. I suggest wearing some sort of liner however, since it isn’t matte and will travel a little over time.
Texture wise, these have a creamy, a little dryer formula that is just a tad tacky on the lips. They all apply very opaquely, which I think is very nice for me only paying $2.49 a piece for them! Now, since they stay slightly tacky, they don’t exactly wear for more than a couple hours you will want to take your lipstick with you for touchups! And as for eating and drinking, you might as well wipe it off and reapply afterwards. I definitely had Saraghina lip prints all around my cup, so watch out! But in this price bracket, I think it is to be expected.
Saraghina and Fuchianista are very staining, which is fairly common with lipsticks in this color range. After swatching my arm had two distinct pinky red spots that looked like I burned myself. While it’s completely normal for me to have colored spots from swatching, you certainly want to be careful not to smudge it from your lips to your face. The stain left behind is very pigmented and if you layer gloss over it, it looks like lipstick on its own!
One thing I really don’t like about these is the tubes. They look really nice, but the fact that the lipstick does not go down all the way in the tube just really irks me. It is nearly impossible for me to get the lid on and off without smushing some of the product onto the side of the lid. Which happened with one getting the lid off for pictures ( Fuschinista) and the rest while putting the lids back on!!! WHY?!? I’m sorry, but I would rather have tubes that protect the lipstick from something like that. And I am certain that someone out there could have designed something flashy and cool looking, yet still functioning.
The products themselves are creamy and comfortable on the lips. They apply opaquely and wear for a few hours without touch ups, however don’t expect them to stick around through eating.
